Retinitis pigmentosa is an inherited eye condition that slowly damages the retina, the light-sensing tissue at the back of the eye. It often starts with night blindness and trouble seeing to the sides, then gradually narrows vision over years, and can lead to complete loss of vision. There is currently no cure or treatment for this condition.
