Acromicric Dysplasia (ACMICD) is an extremely
rare inherited disorder characterized by
abnormally short hands and feet, growth
retardation and delayed bone maturation leading
to short stature, and mild facial abnormalities,
usually becoming apparent during late infancy. By
early childhood, growth retardation and delayed
bone maturation result in short stature (dwarfism)
with most affected individuals attaining a height of
around 120cm. As affected individuals age, facial
abnormalities usually become less obvious, and
some adults with ACMICD develop carpal tunnel
syndrome and others problems with their hip
joints.
